I was born and still live in Belfast. I experienced the worst of the troubles here in my twenties through to my forties. There was a lively poetry environment thriving during this time and I became one of the first women poets to be recognised. I published regularly and travelled internationally, meanwhile bringing up 4 children. My latest collection is ‘Marine Cloud Brightening’ by Gallery Press. I tend to vacillate between women’s issues and ecological ones although the politics of Northern Ireland enters my work surreally.
