These drawings were made by the poet Seán Ó’Riordáin, who worked with Danielle McLaughlin’s mother in the Motor Tax Department in Cork City Hall. Danielle’s contribution is written against the backdrop of a box of original drawings by Ó’Riordáin which she found in her attic. As Ó’Riordáin was regarded as one of the first Irish language poets to engage with the European tradition in his poetry he may feel at home in this project. It is also good to see that the official local government forms and stationery was put to good use.
